Hello and welcome.

What's New

February - Well, the Olympics have arrived at long last. I've been to a few events and have set up a folder for Olympic related shots. New shots are being added as they're processed. It is an exciting time.

December - Back from a one week trip to Mexico. Added a few shots to my pelican and osprey collection. Also got a few shots of a tiger heron - a first for me. You'll find these in the Recent Work folder. Have more to add once they're processed....

November - Spent another day at one of my eagle spots in the Fraser Valley and, as a result, have been able to add quite a few bald eagles shots to my collection. I never get tired of photographing these great raptors. Oh, if you're reading this and you haven't signed my guest book yet, get to it! Thanks.

October - I've recently added a Canon 7D camera to my arsenal. Testing is ongoing on but so far, so good. Canon also recently announced the new 1D Mark IV. No doubt it'll be a dream camera but at a suggested retail price of USD $4,999 (yikes), it will NOT be finding its way into my camera bag in the near future.

August - I am back from a roadtrip to Banff, Jasper and parts around Williams Lake, BC. Although I didn't get shots of big game, other subjects made up for it. I also recently went back to my favorite (ok, only) osprey nest and added some additional shots of the fast growing chick.

About My Gear
I exclusively use Canon digital bodies. My lenses are mainly Canon as well although I do have two Tamron lenses. Gear is just that - gear. From time to time I'm asked which manufacturer is better. The answer, of course, is whichever one helps you get the best shot. And that depends not so much on the camera but rather on the person behind it. Consider the work and the equipment of Ansel Adams or Galen Rowell or any of the other great photographers. Get out there and shoot.

About Photography
Ever wonder why photography seems to be so popular these days. The digital age has certainly inspired many. For me photography is a way to stop time. It's a way to capture a memory or perhaps even a feeling. Some photographs say a little, some say a lot. And perhaps the message doesn't matter some of the time. But when a photograph is done right, when it is done JUST right, it speaks volumes. And that means everything.
